World's Coolest Intern

This is me way back in 2002, right after finished my degree. I started working in an association for petroleum dealers. As this is my first job, and in a small organization besides my job responsibilities, lain-lain kerja kecil-kecilan kena la buat sendiri. Like beli kuih for meeting, buat air for meeting, go to post office, go to the bank and the list goes on! But i am COOL with the job! Tak caya tgk gambar kat bawah ni...posing COOL je :) 

Two years after that, I was offered a job with the government for two years contract. It was a real working life to me. Based on my qualifications and working experiences, I was placed at Corporate Planning Unit. It was a hot and glam desk! The previous officer was everyone's blue eyed girl including Tan Sri as her father was somebody too. So, a big challenge to me to perform well in my duties. 

Managing 52 members of the top management for their official meetings and what not were a big challenge. Protocol all the time. My first time to prove to them that I am as good as the previous officer was during a big meeting in Pulau Redang. First time to be introduced to them and first time to be the emcee! Kecut perut mak! I am not good at it, no experience doing it!

Lucky I did ok as a first timer from the feedback received. Later on, more and more emcee task including in the auditorium full of 1000 people! Ya ampun. The first time, if no rostrum in front of me mmg ko bleh nampak kaki aku lemah menggigil! Tapi aku tetap COOL!

Ni plak masa terbangun kul 8.30 pagi and meeting started at 9! Ko giler? Tu pun bila org dtg ketok bilik aku kejut kan hahaha but still COOL! :)

Some envy my job as I got to rub shoulders with the top gun. But not me! Aku jujur org nya no kiss ass pls! Ooopsss! It was not easy as I have to mix around with them too coz I was considered as a member of the meeting. Joined them for luncheon, poco-poco on Wednesday, bla bla bla...urghh sometimes I got no idea what to talk about! 

See...nampak ganjil kan? But, I am still COOL! :)

Nasib baik diri disenangi dan disukai (perasan sket) oleh sesetengah individu after proven I am capable and responsible if given a task. I am the only young officer, selected as a liason officer to a minister in an event held. COOL sangat!

I love the job so much but my boss did not favor me bila termakan hasutan seorang pegawai yang psycho! Few months before the contract ends, my life in the office was hell! Left out from important meetings or events that supposed I should be in. How would you feel if you were in my shoes? Not cool ok hehe u know u deserve it but your boss treated as if u never exist after all what you did. Other bosses which in the  top management also recognized your work but not your own boss...so sad. I decided not to renew my contract as I believe rezeki ada di mana-mana and I am marketable!

I move on to my new job doing sales in the world famous motor sports event the F1. COOL kan! But it is also on contract basis. The challenge is there to compete with those working from day one the circuit was opened. I was never a motor sports fan but after working there to sell and promote the product, I have to be one! I read, learned and asked and I am now a die hard fan of Lewis Hamilton. If he is not leading in the race, malas nak tgk okeh!!

Ada jugak yang kerja bertaun2 but never into the sports..never bother to watch any races. They just do their job even when the race took place here.If not, I would not know that Rossi is world champion in MotoGP and I should take photo with him.

COOL kan?

Contract ended, I move on again. working as a PR of a golf club. It was not a glamour job at all. I have to do all the kerja-kerja kecilan yang aku buat masa first job dulu. But I am still COOL about it! And it is a one man show! Semua kena buat sendiri. You do the event, you the poster for promo, you take the pictures, you make the report and you present it to the Director! Everything is you!

It is COOL doing charity events. I sell orange for charity mcm apek jual limau kat tepi jalan tu. Dah la on my first month and some members thought aku mmg penjual limau!

Visiting charity homes, look out for poor family in the neighborhood dan macam-macam lagi. One of the special kids which I met during Chinese New Year charity visit still recognized me when she saw me at the Club for swimming! Terharu tau...even after 5 months she still remember me!

Aku pun kena masuk course amik gambar golfer during golf tournament. Waiting them at the tee-box! Buat je muka tak malu and acted COOL!

Well, that's all about me, I, myself is a COOL person :)

As you can see, I am able to adapt in any kind of environment and mix well with people from all walks of life. Tak cukup COOL ke? COOL and job done too! Takde la cool sampai buat bodoh coz u think u are cool LOL ape aku cakap ni?

In everything I do, I have passion in it! Including working at the golf club, as I am catching up golf now!

As Facebook is just at the tip of my thumb no matter when and where, while driving too! I know..bahaya!

Semasa sedang melepak di kedai mamak la aku baca email in my blackberry from Nuffnang regarding this COOL contest! Sounds interesting when age is not the limit as intern usually a fresh grad and I need a new challenge in life now as my life seems bored. Still at the same pace for quite a long time.

So choose me coz I have what it takes to be the World's Coolest Intern with Standard Chartered...muka serius tapi tetap COOL!
